Logan and Football

Logan is so pumped to be playing flag football this Fall. He loves baseball but he has always REALLY loved football too. So, we thought we would give it a try and see how it goes. He had his first game last weekend. He was excited and he especially thinks the mouth guard is cool! His team is the Cowboys. He was not too overly thrilled to be on the Cowboys as he was really looking to play for the Saints or the Titans. Oh well...he is just happy to be playing some football!

Warming up before the game...

Logan got the ball and RAN it all the way down for a touchdown. After scoring the first touchdown, he ran 2 more down, scoring 2 more touchdowns!

Then this happened...
He caught an interception and scored a 4th touchdown!!! He was super excited! Of course, they don't keep score yet but Logan was just happy to be playing football and happy that he had scored his first touchdown in a real game!
When he woke up the next morning, he said he had a dream that he was playing in the NFL as the only 7 year old. They were rushing him but he broke through, ran the ball, and scored another touchdown. I love that he is a dreamer! GO LOGAN!

3 Day Weekend

If only every weekend was a 3 day weekend...it would make me so happy! We had a great weekend. It was a pretty laid back one but we were able to catch up on some much needed family time! I just wanted to love on the kids for a while and that is what I did! Even better, our church had an outdoor service at the park with a picnic and games after. The weather was perfect! It was just a perfect weekend!

My sister and I ran in the Franklin Classic on Labor Day morning! We ran the 5K and we did AWESOME! It's been a while since either of us have done this so it was a great feeling of accomplishment! We even enjoyed drinking Starbucks together after we ran and watched the 10K runners run in! HA...we loved every minute of it! It was a PERFECT morning for running and hanging with my sweet big sis!

After the race, I picked the kids up and we went to love on Daddy at the fire station! The kids love it when he blows these gloves up for them. I know he is so happy I snapped this picture but it just made me laugh!

We had a lot of fun just hanging out at the house! You never know what you are going to find this little girl wearing. I am liking this sweet, innocent fairy princess look...
Not so sweet and innocent here but probably more characteristic of her personality these days...
A sweet moment of these two hanging out together with smiles on their faces... (we need more of these!)
I could just eat this cute little boy up! He is growing up WAY TOO FAST!
I knew you wouldn't believe it unless you could see it but our Sam is learning how to hold his own in this family! Poor Addie is going to be lucky if she has hair left! Don't worry...Sam was quickly removed and put into time out. Oh my...the drama never ends around our house! It's fun but it's crazy fun! Look at Addie's poor face...
To follow this terribly sad picture of Sam and Addie, I must tell you what Addie said tonight when she was brushing her hair before bed.
Addie: Do you know what Mommy?
**Sam was playing and giggling in her princess tent while he was looking at a book.**
Mommy: What Addie?
Addie: That Sam sure is a funny lookin' fella.
I totally disagree with that but I got a good giggle out of that comment!
So...we had a great weekend and now it's back to the craziness that the week brings! I LOVE YOU LABOR DAY WEEKEND! PLEASE COME AGAIN SOON!

GO TITANS

Logan and David made it to a pre-season Titans game a few weeks ago, thanks to our great friend Pate. Logan is so into football right now so you can imagine how excited this little boy was! This was his first Titans game and to say he was excited is a huge understatement. I sent David with the camera and he got a few pictures for me. I didn't get to go but I loved hearing Logan retell the game to me on the way to school the next day! He might not know it all about football but he sure thinks he does and he sure knows how to make it sound like he is a pro!

I don't know what is going on in this picture. I guess this is what happens when the boys get together. The last thing on their mind is picture taking. Oh well...I'm happy with what they got!

Here is to a great football season...GO TITANS!!!

Fun-Day kind of Sunday

I heard a bunch of giggling and moving around in Addie's room this evening. So, I went to go check it out and this is what I found...

One super cool rock star girl...

getting her groove on...

and a super cool sporty boy...
getting his groove on with his rockin' sister...

and their cute, baby brother...
who also has some moves of his own...

It was a Fun-day Sunday at our house!!!

Ronald McDonald House

Since the first of this year, we have been collecting pull tabs from coke cans, etc. to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. For every pound of pull tabs, the RMH gets 40¢. They raise about $10,000 a year through this program. That is A LOT of pull tabs!!!! I am proud of what we collected and even prouder that we did it as a family. We have had lots of people collecting pull tabs for us so a very big thank you to you too! It feels good to be a part of that $10,000, even if it was a tiny, tiny part of it!!!

Here are the kids sitting on the porch at the RMH with the cans of pull tabs...
This is what we collected. We filled up 4 big cans and the smaller collection box that is on top.

Logan and Addie in front of the big collection bin. It was pretty cool and pretty full! :)

We really enjoyed taking the tabs to the RMH. They gave us a tour and told us a lot about it. The RMH Nashville has 32 rooms, is always full, and always has a waiting list. That is SO SAD but SO GREAT at the same time. They run strictly on donations. It truly is a FABULOUS place! The RMH was my sorority's (ADPi) philanthropy in college. I have been to the one in Knoxville many times to bake cookies, etc. However, I never had a true appreciation for what they do for families, not being a mom and not being able to imagine what it must be like to have a sick child. Things are different now and I have a newer and bigger appreciation for this great place!

The Dodd Squad is going to keep on collecting pull tabs and I hope you will too. You can always send them to us or drop them by as we are happy to take them! It's just a little something that we can do to make a difference.

Happy Times

I have neglected the blog lately but that doesn't mean we haven't been having a good time! Here are some pictures to prove it...

David and Addie went to the fair last weekend and had a BLAST! I stayed home with Logan and Sam. David was sweet and got some pictures for me so I didn't totally miss out on the fun. I don't know what it is about the fair but I just love it!

Addie was finally tall enough to ride the Ferris Wheel. David said she LOVED it!

My sister and her sweet family were also at the fair. So, Addie got to have fun with Claire too! Plus, her best friend Carissa was there too. David didn't get any pictures with them but they stayed until 11:30 at night riding rides with Carissa and family. Oh well...that is what the fair is for!!!
These next pictures just make me smile!
Sam is so lucky to have Logan! It is just too much fun!
Grammy and Papa Skip gave this little bike to Logan when he was 1 and it is still making our kiddos smile!
I just love this little one! He is a handful these days with his climbing! I will save that for another post...
