Busy But Fun Weekend!

We had a fun Easter weekend. After Logan's Karate class on Saturday, we took the kids to an Easter Egg Hunt. There were so many people there I was worried that the kids were going to get trampled with no eggs. I was totally wrong!! They had a blast!! Logan was so dead set on finding the Golden Egg (I don't even know that they had one), he didn't put too many eggs in his basket until I reminded him. I think I just wanted the Easter candy. Little Miss Addie was finding the eggs and dropping them...not in her basket but back on the ground. Once I showed her what was in them, she was all about finding the eggs and putting them in the basket. When the egg hunt was all over, we tried to spend some time with the Easter Bunny. Logan was excited about it but I'm afraid Addie was not. In Addie's own words..."it scare me"(with her hand over her heart, chin down, and her eyebrows raised). Everything is scaring Addie these days!!




So, later that day, our little rascal, Logan, had his first baseball practice. I must tell you, he dressed himself. That is David's baseball jersey from the 1980s. I did try to convince him not to wear it but he was dead set on it. He assured me this was a real baseball practice so he must dress like a real baseball player. So, here he is...

And, when we got in the car to head home...Logan informed us we could start calling him "Sport" now because he is a "real" baseball player.

Finally, here they are on Easter!! We got up early to make sure we had enough time to enjoy the things the Easter Bunny had left. You know how that goes...we were still very rushed but we managed to make it to church on time with minimal tears and meltdowns! The Easter Bunny was thinking ahead and left a basket filled with eggs to be hidden after church. That was a big relief and a big hit with the kids!!

"Addie...look at mommy...Addie...look at mommy, please...or not...just keeping looking at the egg."

"Addie...now show mommy your teeth..."

So, we had a very fun weekend with Easter and baseball. Tomorrow is a big day too. Logan has his big test in Karate to move up in the ranks. We've been practicing and he is very excited! So, come back soon to see how that goes...

First of Spring~~End of Break

Spring has just begun and my Spring Break has ended...so sad! Instead of sitting home and doing the normal house work and playtime, I packed a picnic lunch and we headed to the park on this absolutely beautiful day!!! One of Addie's friends, Mason, met us there for a while. We had such a great day. We took Logan's bike and the stroller so we could take a walk. We threw rocks in the creek. We had a picnic lunch. We played and we played and we played. Now, little Miss Addie is sleeping and Logan and I just got up off of the couch from our Rest Time. I don't think I could have asked for a better day!!

"A person is a person..."

We took the kids to see Dr. Seuss', "Horton Hears a Who". This was Addie's very first movie and I went with the expectation that Addie would be up and down. Well, she definitely did not let me down but I still managed to see most of the movie and it was GREAT! Logan and David just loved it! And, Addie did too, at least the parts she was able to sit still and watch. She keeps talking non-stop about "Hornet". Logan's first movie was "Curious George". I think he was a little bit older than Addie...he was so still and quiet. Now that I think about it, Addie is only still and quiet if The Wiggles are on TV. In her defense, she might have lasted a little longer had there not been 30 minutes of previews before the actual movie even started...what's up with that!?!

Oh well...it's official...Addie's 1st movie was "Horton Hears a Who" and we learned that a "person is a person no matter how small". If you haven't seen this movie yet, you really should. We are looking forward to having it on DVD.

Life without Jesus...

So, we have had a lot going on lately and haven't been able to blog in a while. I guess I'll start here...

Logan had a very sweet Easter Program at school last week. It incorporated all of the kids from his school, even the little babies. It was very, very sweet!! We took lots of pictures. Logan and his class sang their own song. The finale was the cutest with the 3-4 year olds together, holding up their hand-made doughnuts singing "Life without Jesus is like a doughnut"...simply said and so CUTE!!

Party Kind of a Weekend...

Addie and my niece, Claire, both have birthdays 5 days a part. So, we had a whole weekend of partying to celebrate. It was Claire's 1st birthday and Addie's 2nd birthday. We had a lot of fun!! I had so many pictures so I decided to make a slide show...it just seemed easier! I have a lot of pictures of Claire too because I know we have a lot of family who would enjoy seeing Claire. They just grow too fast! Jennifer and I have already decided to do their parties together next year...it just makes more sense!! Hope you enjoy the pictures...

Ready for WARM, SUNNY days

I am so ready for Spring and Summer. There are many things I love about Winter but I am pretty much over it. I'm ready for pretty colors outside and very ready to get the kids outside rather than inside. I was organizing some pictures and found some that show some of the fun we have had inside during these cold, winter days.

First up, we have some pictures of David pulling the kids around and around, all wrapped up in blankets. As you can see, they had fun...


Next, we have an afternoon that I was trying to cook dinner. I very nicely asked David to keep the kids occupied so I could get dinner on the table. So, he found some bubble wrap...

David's very good at coming up with some pretty creative and playful ideas with the kids (these pictures are just a couple of those ideas...we've had forts made out of pillows, jumping off the couch into a pool of pillows, etc). I can't say I am always loving the rough housing in the house. I guess that is why I am so ready for warm and sunny days. I just thought I would share these fun pictures. Hopefully I will be sharing some of David's creative and playful ideas for the outdoors very soon!!

Almost a 1st Haircut

For the past year (at least), I have been saying I was going to have Addie's "first" haircut. She was born with a head full and it has been growing in full swing ever since. I don't know why I have been so hesistant to have it cut but I have. I guess I'm just afraid that she will look more grown up and I'm just not ready for that. And, I remember when Logan had his "first" haircut how sad I felt because he looked like a little boy rather than a baby boy. However, I could not put the haircut off anymore because we had one too many people tell us a what a pretty little girl we had. Oh but his curls were so cute!! Anyways, it has been more difficult with Addie. I finally made the appointment for Wednesday with the girl who cuts my hair. I knew I could trust her because she does a great job!! Addie will be 2 on Friday so I just felt like it had to be done. So, here are the before pictures...



And are you ready for the after...

Does she look any different? Well, if you are thinking no then you are right on. I took her...she sat sweetly in the chair for maybe 2 minutes. Jennifer (the hair stylists) brushed and played with her hair and just kept brushing and looking. I finally had to hold her. After brushing and looking and getting some other opinions from other hair stylists, Jennifer decided that Addie really didn't need a cut just to have a "first cut". Addie wouldn't sit still enough to get a perfect cut and Jennifer and the other stylists said they have clients come to them asking to have their hair cut the very way Addie's has grown out...big sigh of relief from me. I felt much better and was glad to know her hair wasn't looking rough or like it was lacking from not having a "first" cut. I was also very happy to leave, look at Addie in the back seat, and still see my sweet baby girl with all the hair she has had since she was born. She will be 2 on Friday and I'm kind of sad but at least I still have another big "first" to look forward to. I am thinking we will probably have a "summer" cut now but we will see...
