Visit with Daddy

We decided to stop by the fire station to show off the boys' haircuts to Daddy. I was happy I had my camera as it has been a while since I have captured some good pictures of the kids climbing on the trucks. So, here you go and they are SO CUTE!!!!

In the bucket... (I think that is what it is called???)
This is MY FAVORITE! Check out these fire boots he found!!!! I love his SMILE!

Another cute one! She is definitely a Daddy's girl!
This face says "Ohhhh...that is sooooo cool!!!!!" (Addie was ringing the bell.)
Look at this big, handsome boy...

This is another one of my favorites...
This one too!!!!
There you go! We can never have too many pictures on fire trucks!

Might as well laugh instead of getting mad

This is something I say to myself on a regular basis, just like this morning...

Sunday mornings are always a little crazy with getting everybody up, dressed, and out the door for church. They are especially crazy on the Sundays that David is working and it's just me. But, I am determined to make it to church, even on the especially crazy days. This morning was one of those especially crazy mornings but I was determined to make it to church. It was also a special morning that the kids were eating Lucky Charms for breakfast. I don't buy Lucky Charms all the time so the kids are always very excited when they are in the house. Sam got his first bowl of Lucky Charms this weekend and has loved every bite of them. So, he is not happy when his bowl is empty and he wants "more, more, more". Of course, I say "no, no, no" and continue on with getting myself ready so then I can get everybody else ready. Well, Sam would not accept the "no, no, no" so he took it upon himself to solve his big problem without pitching a big fit. He laid out a napkin on the table, opened up the pantry, got the Lucky Charm box, opened it, and poured the ENTIRE BOX OF LUCKY CHARMS on the small square napkin. He then proceeded to eat the Lucky Charms until his mommy realized he was very quiet and came to check on him. And yes, instead of getting mad at him, I laughed, told him what a great problem solver he was, took a picture, then cleaned up the mess. You see, I told him he was a great problem solver because I have really been working on the problem solving skills with Addie who thinks that screaming will solve her problems. Ha...at least I know they are working on one kid out of the three!

I just had to share these pictures! Too cute not to share! He was so proud of himself.

**At least he poured it out on the kitchen table, opened up the napkin to make it bigger, and aimed really well!**
Somehow, we did make it to church in just the nick of time! I don't know why I expect anything less than an especially crazy Sunday morning. I just might as well laugh instead of getting mad!!!! If I didn't, I would be mad all the time!!!!

Another Fun Snow Day

The Snow Angels Came

Addie's bedtime prayers on Sunday night started like this--"Dear God, please send snow angels..." Guess what, He did!!!!
Snowman pancakes to start our snow day off...

"Look Mommy, I found Daddy's fire boots! Aren't I cute?"
No sleds but we do have laundry baskets!
Sadie is a great sled (laundry basket) pulling dog!

Guess who helped build the snowman??

WEEEEE...

Playing in the snow, warming up with hot chocolate, movies and popcorn, and homemade vegetable soup...just a few of the reasons WE LOVE SNOW DAYS!!!! Thank you God for sending us your Snow Angels!

MAMO

We finally went to spend some time with the Payne's and meet our newest family member. Let me just tell you that we are in love with this little guy! He is sweeter and cuter in person if you can imagine that!

We just couldn't resist spoiling him a little bit more...
We had to get him his first fire truck!

He is BEAUTIFUL and look at this super cool trike! WOW!
Addie was just as excited to play with Caitlyn as she was to meet Mamo! 2 pretty girls...
He just took Logan's hand and pulled him from place to place. SO SWEET! Logan loved it!
Sam was buried in fun!
Just doesn't get much sweeter than this! I'm in love!
We love you Mamo and are so glad you are home! You have been in our prayers for a while now! So good to meet you!
Visit Payne Family Blessings to see more pictures and to read more about their amazing journey to get Mamo!

New Year's Eve--Dodd Squad vs. Sharp Bunch

We enjoyed New Year's Eve with my sister's family...Family Game Night Style--Dodd Squad vs. Sharp Bunch!

We jammed on Rock Band...(at least Sam thought he was)

We danced to Just Dance For Kids! Yes, it was for kids so we had fun doing the hamster dance and other kiddy dances. I love dancing so any dancing is fun! At least I can say I danced the night away! I think my resolution is to dance more this year!

Cousin love...

Claire playing the cup stacking game. These Minute to Win It games were so much fun!

Go Uncle Dave...

Trying to stack 5 apples and balance them for 3 seconds...all in a minute!

Go David...

I love her effort! Can you tell how hard she is trying with that tongue sticking out?

The object of this last game was to blow the cups off the table using the air from your balloon.

You just had to be there but we laughed so hard at the balloon game and this guy right here...

What a fun night!

Happy 2011! Wishing us all the BEST EVER!
