Derby Car Racer

Logan's derby race was last Friday and it was an exciting time! Logan has been ready for this day since last October when they handed out the derby cars. He built it the very next day and has been playing with it ever since. I was a little nervous because he wanted to build it the way he wanted it and really didn't want advice on how to make it the winning car. Plus, he has seriously been playing with it and showing it off for 3 months now. When we got there, we did have to make a few changes to add some more weight. Thankfully they had a pit row and we were able to make it weigh in right at 5 oz.

Well, our little man won 1st place in his den and he was thrilled! You can see him jumping up as his car crosses the finish line. I have no idea how they do it but it raced down quite a few times, pretty much against all the cars in his den. He was so, so, so excited! He went on to race against the top 3 from each den and did not win the championship. One of my boys in my class won it so we were excited for him. Logan was just happy to have won what he did. And, he had a great time. From the beginning, we have told him it is all about having fun and he definitely did that!

Way to go Logan! On the way home he said, "I had another best night of my life tonight!" I just love this little man!

SAM

Believe it or not, our baby boy is going to be 10 MONTHS tomorrow! Yes, I have been meaning to do this post for the last month but where in the world has the time gone? 10 months...really??

Since he is still technically 9 months, here are 9 things about Sam right now...

1. He weighs 18 lbs 13 oz (20th %) and is 28.25 inches long (46%) and is just as happy and easy going as ever!

2. He is crawling everywhere and will pull up on things only to his knee. I did catch him tonight, for the first time, where he had pulled up to his his feet while holding onto the couch. However, Momma Addie caught a quick glimpse and very quickly sat him down on his bottom. She was just sure he might fall and hurt himself!

3. He loves to be tickled and laughs the loudest, happiest giggle!

4. His newest trick is to shrug his shoulders at you. It's so cute! I have a cute video of it but I haven't been able to upload any of our videos. Maybe one day!

5. He shows his love for you by giving you a gentle head but when you are holding him.

6. He loves his jumparoo and he does way more than jump in it. He has figured out how to make himself swing back and forth, really high. It's the craziest thing. I would be sick to my stomach if I were to do that! He just might be our little dare devil!

7. He loves to eat finger foods. Of course, he can't have all finger foods yet so it is kind of like a game to feed him these days. His bottle is still his favorite and he always puckers up and makes cute noises when he sees it.

8. He still takes 2 naps and sleeps very well at night, unless he is teething. He has 4 teeth, 2 on top and 2 on bottom but we are pretty sure he is working on at least one more. When he does wake up, he just takes his passy and some easy rocking and singing before he is back to dream land.

9. He, just like Logan, loves the cloth diapers we use as burp cloths. This is what he uses as his blanky. He sleeps with it and his passy. Logan started out with about 12 of those things and I still have a very, very small and ragged piece of only one. I am going to try and do better with Sam's.

So there you have it! Sam is just the sweetest little guy and we could not be any happier with him! Here are some pictures of him at 9 months. I don't think I have actually posted his month by month pictures but I have been taking them. Maybe, just maybe, one day I will find the time to post them.

Notice in these first 2 pictures that he is clinging to the cloth diaper that he loves.

Now notice that the cloth diaper is no longer in the picture. He is not happy with me! This is what happens when you try to take it away. I just had to post this because it is just too cute. You can see his 2 bottom teeth!

He attempted to attack the camera since we weren't going to give the diaper back! Now you can really see his 2 bottom teeth!

Now he is showing off his flexibility! He is a very flexible baby! I don't remember this with Logan and Addie.

This hurts me to look at but this is the way he is almost always sitting. He has his left leg curled behind him. OUCH!

We love our baby Sam! He lights up our world in the sweetest way!

A Great Opportunity!

We just could not resist the opportunity to take Addie to see the new Disney Princess movie, The Princess and the Frog. We also could not resist the opportunity to dress up as a princess to go see the princess movie. We also could not resist the opportunity to take her best friend, also dressed as a princess. And, Logan also could not resist the opportunity to go to the movies. He was not overly excited about it being a princess movie and he had no problem resisting the opportunity to dress as a princess. However, he could not resist the opportunity to fill his pockets with his Star Wars guys.

You just cannot let great opportunities pass you by and I'm so glad we didn't let this one pass us by!

Since Christmas...

I have seen lots of validation that the kids had a great Christmas. Here are a few pictures of proof...

Football, Football, and then some Football is all that is on this little boy's mind so thank goodness for this Nerf Football and the new jersey!

Addie is surrounded in her castle with her jewelry box (overflowing with jewelry) and her kitty she named Ellie. She also has at least 10 books in there with her. I love this little girl!

Christmas at Home

Christmas at our house is simple but fun. Here are some pictures of the fun we had at our house when Santa came!

The kids are in their Christmas Eve jammies, excited about the upcoming visit from Santa.
Leaving cookies for Santa and then headed to bed.

Guess who came while the kids were sleeping? (I bet you can't guess) SANTA...I guess the kids were good but I was having my doubts! :)
All smiles coming down for CHRISTMAS MORNING!
Logan's Santa...
No, he didn't get the DS he is still wanting but he is still all smiles with everything else. He totally understands that Santa just doesn't think he is old enough for a DS yet. He said he is just going to stop asking. Serioulsy, the remote control Hummer was a total surprise for him and he couldn't have been happier!!

The Star Wars "guy" would have also done the trick!
Addie's Santa...
Since she is a princess, she had to have a castle and a kitty and a lot of other "stuff" that made her perfectly happy!
She has been asking to play soccer and she was so happy to get her own soccer ball she hugged it!
The easiest way to Addie's heart is with anything sweet!!
She was happy and really didn't know what to do with it all!
Sam's 1st Santa was a good one! He was especially excited about the new pacifiers that were stuffed in his stocking!!

Santa did bring Addie the nail polish she asked him for. There is another easy way to get to her heart!
This is just our life in a nut shell! Sam does enjoy Addie...most of the time! Addie definitely loves Sam ALL of the time!
We were happy to have Grammy and Papa Skip spend the night with us on Christmas Eve. They were a big help and it just gave the kids more reasons to be excited!
Now that Christmas has come and gone, the kids have moved on to what they want for their birthday. At least we have a little break until party time! I can't believe Addie is coming up on her 4th birthday. WOW!!
