The San Diego Chicken and Addie

The San Diego Chicken was visiting the Sounds on the same night we celebrated Nana's Birthday at the Sounds. (see next post) When we got there, Addie was asked if she would like to help out the San Diego Chicken. Of course she wanted to and it was so cute. Plus, it was Nana's birthday so it was a great bonus birthday present!

Do you know who the San Diego Chicken is? I really did not but he is a very, very, very famous mascot who goes way back. Click here to read his biography. (Fun Fact about him: He was named one the Top 100 Most Powerful People in Sports of the 20th Century by the Sporting News Editors, just like Babe Ruth and Muhammad Ali.) Here are some pictures we found of him...

We laughed so hard when we found this one...
Here is little Miss Addie as the San Diego Chicken's baby chick...
While they were waiting to go be silly on the field, Ozzie gave them some love...

The San Diego Chicken led them around the field to slap the catcher on the bottom, send the visiting team some bad vibes, and to then lift their leg (as if they were peeing) on the umpire. It was cute!
Addie also got to go out on the field another time to try and hit water balloons from the San Diego Chicken. She didn't hit one because it turns out he was throwing them at a guy from the visiting team. It was too cute and she did great!
She even made it on the news, slapping the catcher on the bottom. Way to go Addie! You are the cutest baby chick I have ever seen!

Nana's Birthday at the Sounds

We decided to celebrate Nana's birthday at a Sounds game this year. I am so glad we did!

This is what happened with the first try of getting Jackson and Logan's picture together. Can you guess what sweet (with a mean streak) 15 month old would possibly do this to his older brother??

Ozzie gave the birthday girl some love and headlocked her oldest son....makes me laugh!
Ozzie with all the grandkids, minus Jackson and Sam.
Ozzie seems to have something against Jon...

The night we were there was the night the San Diego Chicken was in town. Come back soon to see why the San Diego Chicken and Addie are good buddies!

We love you Nana and had a great time celebrating your birthday with you!

Vacation Pictures (Finally!)

As you know, we had a great time at the beach. We originally made plans for Orange Beach but, with the oil spill, decided to try Myrtle Beach. We were very happy with our choice!

Sam loved everything about the beach. He loved playing in the sand and jumping the BIG waves in the water! Here he is taking his first walk on the beach. So sweet!
He is ready to GO! At this age, Logan was scared of the water. He ran away from the waves. You can see Sam do the exact opposite!

Logan loved everything about the beach this year and this is a first. He has always loved the sand but never been crazy about the water. This year was a new story. We were so proud! He had lots of fun!
Addie, just like the other two, also loved everything about the beach too. However, she was more there for the social aspect. Every day we went out, she made a new friend to play with. That was her first priority!
The one thing I do not like about the beach is the sand that gets EVERYWHERE. It was in Sam's mouth, eyes, ears, nose, and any where else you can think. It did not bother him though!

Logan played in the water more than anything. He loved riding the waves in on his boogie board. I loved being able to go out in the water with him!
Just having a blast...

Snackin' on the beach...
We picked the HOTTEST day to walk on the pier but here we are...
We went to a mini amusement park one night in downtown Myrtle Beach. There really was no reason to leave our condo complex but Logan wanted to do go-carts. This was the one thing our condo did not have to do so here we are...
WEEEEEE...fun on the Merry-Go-Round...
They had a Flume Zume and it was so much fun! Do you remember this at Opryland? Addie and Logan loved it!

This is why we did not have to leave our condo complex...
There was an indoor waterpark on the bottom and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Myrtle Beach. We stayed at Dunes Village. They had the water park, putt-putt golf, fun activities for the kids, a coffee shop (my favorite thing!), a restaurant, and they made the beds everyday (my 2nd favorite thing!). Oh...and it was right on the beach of course!
This is Addie going down one of the smaller slides for the first time. You can't see her but I think it is cute to see Logan's face cheering her on. Once she got the hang of it, she loved it and did all slides but the BIG ONE!
This was the BIG SLIDE that went straight down. After Logan went down the twisty-turny slides, he was sure he could do this. I was totally surprised he would even try but he did. You can see what he thought about it! He didn't try this one again but we couldn't keep him out of the other ones. David did this one several times. I did it once and didn't do it again. I just do not enjoy having my bathing suit pushed into uncomfortable places! :)
Here is David coming down the twisty-turny slide. He was another one I could not keep off of the slides!
There was A LOT for Sam to play in too! Water was EVERYWHERE and he LOVED it!
The condo was super nice too! Addie and Sam had fun playing in the cabinet. I did have food in there but once Sam figured that out, he took care of that for me, as you can see!
It was VACATION so the kids got to eat powdered donuts for breakfast. Love these smiles...

Sam even got to try them. He was happy to try them but did not care anything about eating them. Why would you eat them when you could smoosh them and get powdered sugar everywhere??
Cute boy playing in daddy's hat...

If you are still reading this, I am impressed. I just couldn't leave out any pictures! We had such a great vacation! Yes, it was a little exhausting. I needed a vacation from the vacation when we got back. Oh well...all the smiles and memories are worth it! Looking forward to next year already...

Happy Father's Day

I am so blessed! I know that is a simple way to put it but I am. Ok, maybe I am a little spoiled! David truly is a great father to our 3 children. He is always, always, always doing something for them. He loves us with all of his heart. Yes, he tells us all of the time he loves us but, most importantly, he shows us he loves us through his actions. I could not ask for more!

Thank you, thank you, thank you David for your love! Happy Father's Day!

Pop...you are the best Pop to your grandbabies! We had a lot of fun hanging out with you on Father's Day. Thank you for being you! Happy Father's Day to you too!

You just never know what you are going to get with Pop. Today, we found Pop floating in the kiddie pool. Seconds after I took this picture, his 2 grown sons (David and Jon) dumped another baby pool full of water on him. It was great! (Sorry Pop!) The greatest part was Logan's giggle that went on and on and on. Pop was a great sport, as always!

And here are 3 smiles I thought I would leave you with to make you smile...

Today, we only got to celebrate with David and his Dad. It was a great day but we were thinking about Papa Skip and PawDaddy. We LOVE them both very much. You are both very special to us! Happy Father's Day to you too! Love you!

We've been baking!

Shhh...don't tell David...

Yummy...I think there are a few cookies left for the BEST DADDY in the world! :)
